Clare Alger Obituary
CLARE ALGER Clare Alger, 77, died peacefully in her home Oct. 29, 2017 in Pahrump. She was born in Los Angeles Nov. 22, 1939 on Thanksgiving Day. She often joked and would say she was the original turkey. When she was 13, she moved to Las Vegas, where she attended Las Vegas High School. She then met her first husband, Pete Snowden at Nellis Air Force Base. They had three children. For many years, Clare worked as a waitress and bartender. In 1975, she met Bill Alger, was married, and had a son. Clare will be remembered by her love of the outdoors, traveling, playing Bingo and mostly, her work in the AA and NA programs for many years. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Glen Robey and Mildred Armstrong. She is survived by her daughter Cynthia (Gaylon) Baker; sons, Dan (Terry) Snowden, Robert Alger, all of Pahrump, and Jim (Lynn) Snowden of Ankeny, Iowa; four brothers, Dave, Bill, Robert and Jimmy Robey; nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Entrusted to the care of Lee Funeral Home.
