EDWARD MARTIN GUELL Edward Martin Guell, age 70, died on Jan. 9, 2017 at Saint Rose Dominican Hospital of antibiotic resistant infection (MRSA) after surgery for esophageal cancer. Ed was a gracious, gregarious, kind, and generous man loved by many. He leaves behind family and friends who loved and cared for him deeply, and were grateful they got to know him in life. Mr. Guell is survived by his wife, Carolina; four children from blended marriage: stepchildren Kren Andrenacci, Irma Gloucester, Roberto Andrenacci; and son, Matthew Chandler from prior marriage. He also leaves behind 11 wonderful grandchildren. Ed was a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War where he received an honorable discharge after years of service. He was born in Quincy, Massachusetts near Boston, the third child of Manuel Guell and Patricia Darrow. Growing up, he lived all over America and overseas, as his father was an active Navy colonel all his life. His favorite place while growing up was Hawaii, where he lived for over 4 years while his father was stationed there. He graduated from the University of Arizona with a degree in Marketing and worked many years in the car industry. The discipline and patriotism he learned in the Navy never left him, as friends and family will attest. A family-only ceremony, as per his wishes, will be held on February 14th, at Boulder Veterans Memorial Cemetery, where part of his cremated remains will be placed in a columbarium. The rest of his remains will be scattered at sea on March 18-19th off the coast of San Diego. Relatives will also get mini-urns with remains to keep the memory of a good man close by. He is with God now and we will all eventually join him in heaven to enjoy again his gregariousness and kindness.
