JOHN EUGENE STUART BUCHANAN John Eugene Stuart Buchanan, 74, was born in Portland, Ore., on Nov. 8, 1942, to John Edward Buchanan and Eleanor Elizabeth Pitts. John passed away in Las Vegas, Nev., on Dec. 23, 2016. John's ancestors go back to the early California gold rush days and the Fort Sutter home. He was preceded in death by both his parents. He leaves his surviving daughters and son-in-laws: Brittany Buchanan-Valencia, Chad Valencia of Summerlin, Nev., and Heather Buchanan-Stafford, Chad Stafford of Aurora, Ore. He delighted in his 2 grandkids, Kadence Valencia, 9 and Carsen Valencia, 7. He loved his endearing Siamese cat, Wada Wada. John married Barbara Buchanan on Nov. 30 and though they divorced many decades ago they remained friends and family and business collegues. John was a real-estate broker, a licensed general contractor and a developer. Previously he and Barbara were proud owners of the Big B Ranch in Smoky Valley, Nev., a remote and beautiful ranch, which was at the turn of the century (which was a dairy ranch) known as Alice Gendron Ranch. John was a muse, a master of OPM, a character, a charismatic figure and probably would have been happier in the early 20th century rather than modern times. Most of all John was a man filled with contagious hope and sprinkled that everywhere he went, partially with Brittany, who was the apple of his eye. He will be missed. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, Jan. 26, at 12pm at the Wine Ridge RV Resort 3800 Winery Road, Pahrump, NV 89048 1-775-751-7805. A donation account has been set up to aid in the family's time of need. Please visit https://www.gofundme.com/8z-helping-a-family.
