BRUCE G. STEVENSON Bruce G. Stevenson of Tecopa, Calif. went to join Our Heavenly Father on Tues., Sept. 5, 2017 at the age of 82 after several months of illness. He was born on June 7, 1935 to Francis and Bertha (Genereux) Stevenson in Glendale, Calif. He was a Boy Scout and achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. After graduating from Glendale High School, he attended Pierce Junior College in Woodland Hills, Calif. He worked for Washington State University (19561957), U.S. Forest Service (firefighter 1957-1968), San Bernardino County Sheriff's Office (reserve deputy during his employment with the U.S. Forest Service) and Inyo County Sheriff's Office (deputy sheriff, 1968-1980). After his retirement he volunteered with the local ambulance service, which later became the Southern Inyo Fire Protection District, and served on the SIFPD board of trustees until health issues forced him to resign. Bruce is survived by his wife of 30 years Terri,; his former wife, Judy Stevenson; two sons, Randal (Judi) Stevenson and Andrew Stevenson; three daughters, Tamara Stevenson, Angela (David) Delgado and Louellen Monte; former daughter-in-law, Raquel Stevenson; nine grandchildren, Joseph, David (Arielle), Kori, Mitchell (Raquel), Nathaniel, Andrea, Dangya, Scott and Dylan; one great-granddaughter Makayla; one sister, Margaret Stevenson; two brothers-in-law, Larry and Jay; three sisters-in-law, Linda, Casey and Ellen; many nieces and nephews; and many friends. Bruce was preceded in death by his parents and two sons, Scott Stevenson (2014) and Anthony Monte (1986). He will be greatly missed and always remembered. Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Nov. 11, 2017 at the Faith Community Church in Tecopa, Calif. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in his memory be made to ESPOA (Eastern Sierra Peace Officers Association), PO Box 101, Independence, CA 93526, an organization that he was a member of and supported.
