My next to the oldest brother and my middle brother; Columbus and Lewis Jones both now deceased were members of Friendship Baptist under the leadership of the late Red. Evans. And on Columbus's funeral I met him. I've always been a big fan of his legacy.

And I was sadden to hear of his passing. May God continue to strengthen and lift up his family and the Friendship family.

Respectively,

How we will all miss this giant of a man! Rev. Dr. Evans was truly a servant of the Most High God, and his life is a living testimony of his faith. I have watched the Homegoing Celebration via youtube twice, and it was a most befitting testament to a live well lived. I never had the pleasure of meeting Rev. Evans, but he was one of my favorite gospel singers and preachers. How I do enjoy watching his wonderful services at " The Ship" down through the years via youtube. Some of my favorite services are already gone from youtube, and this makes me very sad because all of his sermons are most relevant today. My sincere prayers are with his beautiful family and the Fellowship Baptist Church of Chicago. This man will never be forgotten. "IT IS NO SECRET WHAT GOD CAN DO."

I'm sad to learn of the passing of a legend
In the Gospel, I learned of Rev.Clay Evan's
from the song I'm blessed.... I lead it my church.
The lead verse, I've been blessed and I've
been kept by his goodness and mercy right
now I've got the victory,so before you start
to complain why dont you count your blessings
You will be amazed, thank God I'm blessed.
