DALE E. VAN ZANTEN Dale Van Zanten, 67, passed away January 21, 2020 in Los Angeles, Calif. He was born July 24, 1952 in Monroe, Wash. and lived in Laguna Beach, Calif. before residing in Pahrump for 16 years. Dale served the U.S.A.F. for over 22 years retiring as a MSgt. He had many hobbies but especially enjoyed traveling abroad with a desire, one day, to live in the Philippine Islands with his extended family. He was also an avid scuba diver and instructor, an expert tinkerer and a budding master gardener. It seemed that there wasn't anything that he couldn't fix, or grow, in a garden that he created in a desert. Dale was an unfailingly loving, loyal and generous father, husband and friend. A selfless man, whom those around could always count to lend a helping hand. Dale will be forever loved and sorely missed by all those he touched. Dale was preceded in death by his mother, Bonita Maitrejean of Marysville, Wash.; father, Emery Van Zanten of Pepin, Wis.; brother, Sam Van Zanten of Whittier, Calif.; sister, Theda McLean of Las Vegas, Nev. He is survived by his wife, Zosima of Pahrump; children, Susan of Texas, Sam of Delaware, Aaron of Nevada; sisters, Lilian Davis of California, Doddy Morin of Nevada; four granddaughters. There will be funeral services February 1, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church, 781 E. Gamebird Rd., Pahrump. A burial with military honors will be held February 4, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at S. Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetary, 1900 Veterans Memorial Dr., Boulder City, NV 89005.
