EMIL HARRY RAETZ, JR. Emil Harry Raetz, Jr. , of Pahrump, was born August 30, 1957 in Willits, Calif. and passed away June 5, 2019. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Rose and Emil Harry Raetz, Sr., and his brother Leroy. He is survived by his beloved wife of 35 years, Melissa (Rowland); his daughters, Erin (Bachus), Heather (Stalley); his grandchildren, Machaila, Noah, Gavin, Rose, Alexa & Aurora; his siblings, John, Cecil, Ronald, Steve, Barbara, and Patricia; and his brother, Leroy. He proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps receiving commendations and medals before being honorably discharged. After his service, Emil loved working with his hands; the craftsman started in the gold mines of Northern California and continued on to work with many rare metals, precious stones, gems, rocks and beautiful wood pieces. Never looking to profit on his talent, Emil has a wide collection of handmade pieces that bring out the unique details of every individual blank slate: knotty, grainy, sometimes difficult-to-work-with natural elements that he brought out the best features and natural essence of the sources. Talking for hours about the origins, unique qualities and otherwise rare minutiae of each item lit up his eyes and had him standing tall and proud. Cheers, Emil. Miss you, Dad. Love you always.
