JOYCE CALLIHAN LIZAR Pioneer Nevadan, Joyce Callihan Lizar, passed away at her Pahrump home on August 15, 2019 with family surrounding her, 12 days short of her 82nd birthday. She learned cowboy ballads from her father that she and her sister sang when walking to grade school. Joyce was a teller at Nevada State Bank and later worked at an insurance agency that gave her the experience necessary to open her own business billing insurance. Her father, Fred Callihan Jr. and brother, Fred Callihan III, moved to Pahrump. She followed several months later. She bought five raw acres on Gregory Rd. January 1988, she moved her mobile home to the property and moved in. Singularly, Joyce committed to living life HER way and in HER style. Services were held at Chief Tecopa Cemetery in Pahrump on Monday, August 24 at 8:00 a.m.; three days before her 82nd Birthday.
