LEE EDWIN JEFFERS April 15, 1926 - Jan. 24, 2018 Lee was born in Nickerson, Kansas. His family moved to Pahokee, Fla. in the 1940's. Lee graduated from Pahokee High School and went to Florida State University, where he received his Bachelors and Masters degrees in Music Education. His specialty was band director. He taught at Dothan, Ala. High School, then to Murphy High School in Mobile, Ala., with 10 years of superior ratings. One day he received a call from West Palm Beach, Fla., to please come and take the Forest Hill High School position as band director. His band there also had superior ratings. When Lee retired, he and Mary moved to Hendersonville, N.C., where shuffleboard was played on the district, state and national level, and competition was fierce. Then Lee and Mary decided to hit the road and traveled by motorhome all over the United States. What a fantastic journey. One year, while in Las Vegas, Lee looked at the map and said, "What is this place called Pahrump?" One visit is all it took. Three years later, he and Mary decided, "This is it." They moved to Pahrump in 1997. What a wonderful life's journey.
