Phyllis Ann Fuller Belk Obituary
PHYLLIS ANN FULLER BELK Phyllis Ann Fuller Belk passed away on Jan. 7, 2018 at her home in Pahrump. She was born in Torrance, Calif. July 23, 1950. In 1956, the family moved to Needles, Calif., where Phyllis attended school and graduated in 1968. The ensuing years were spent in several places in Southern California. Phyllis had three distinct careers. She started as a waitress, and her patrons followed her whenever she changed restaurants. She then became a grocery checker and later a bookkeeper. Her last change was a tax preparer, and again, her clients followed her, even to her new state of Nevada. Phyllis was married to Kenneth Belk, the love of her life. Her children, 15 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren were the rainbows in her life. Her sisters, brother, and large extended family were also a necessary part of her life. She rarely met a stranger. A comment was recently made that, "No one ever was alone in the presence of Phyllis Belk. Her heart embraced us all." Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother, son and two dear nephews. She is survived by her daughters, Paula Cooper of Pahrump, Brenda (Jeff) Culbertson of Las Vegas, Lisa Belk of Calif.; and one son, Steven Proa of Pahrump; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her three sisters, one brother, and the "outlaws" of the family and a huge extended family, who all adored her crazy sense of humor. She kept all of these people in her circle of "importants." Services will be held on Jan. 27, 2018 in Pahrump, Nev. Time and location will be set soon.
