WENNWOOD HICKINBOTHAM Wennwood Hickinbotham, 70, long time Beatty resident since 1981, Husband, Father, Geologist, Surveyor, Gun Smith, Firefighter, EMT and Scout Master passed away peacefully at home on Monday March 25. Born, Dec. 23, 1948, to Mary & Leslie Hickinbotham, he obtained the rank of Eagle Scout. In 1971 he married Laurel Perona and graduated from San Jose State, Calif. with a B.S. in Geology. He worked for Cotter Corporation Uranium mines in Naturita Colorado and Barrick Bullfrog, Saga/Sterling and Angst Gold mines in Beatty as a surface and underground geologist/surveyor. A lifetime member of the NRA, he enjoyed working on his home, camping, exploring the desert, loud Hawaiian shirts, cats and the Harry Potter series. He is survived by his wife, of 47 years, Laurel; his brother, Leslie; sons, Ian and Sean; daughter, Kimberly; son-in-law, Adam Silva; granddaughter, Kaitlyn, as well as the many young men he mentored into adulthood. He is currently quietly tormenting all Liberals in the state of Nevada. A memorial will be held at a later date.
