BOYD KENT PARK Boyd Kent Park, a resident of Pahrump, Nevada, passed away Sunday, November 15, 2020. He was 84 years young. Boyd, son of Clarence William Park & Emma Vera Park, was born May 9, 1936 in Ririe, Idaho. He attended school in Ririe and grew up helping on the family farm, logging and loving the great outdoors. Soon after graduating from Ririe High School, Boyd married Verla Barney. They then moved to Prescott, Arizona where he worked in the logging industry. Their marriage was blessed with the addition of daughter, Nancy Lou Park and sons, Jerry Wayne Park and Jimmy Boyd Park. A loving and hardworking father, he thoroughly enjoyed spending time camping, fishing, and hunting with the family. He supported his young sons in motorcycle racing, and together they were always working on a motorcycle or mini bike engine. He built a small family home near Thumb Butte in Prescott. Boyd worked operating and maintaining heavy equipment for various construction firms. Later he started his own successful company, Boyd Park Backhoe Services, in Prescott. Boyd had always wanted to get back to farming, so he bought a ranch, complete with a variety of animals, and spent twenty years in Cortez, Colorado living his dream. Ready to be closer to his children, he sold the ranch and moved to Pahrump where he met Dolores, his soul mate. Together they enjoyed singing karaoke, dancing the night away and the company of friends and family. They were ardent "road trip" people & traveled frequently cross country on 5th wheel adventures, fishing and canoeing. He was still "playing in the dirt" with his backhoe the week before he passed. We will all remember him for his kindness, positive attitude, the way his smile lit up the room and the integrity he projected every day of his life. He will be missed by us all. He is survived by his "lil darlin" Dolores Blossom; his children, Nancy (Ron) Burns of Lakewood, Colorado and Gilbert of Arizona, Jerry (Jill) Park of Pahrump, and Jim (Luz) Park of Minot, North Dakota; sisters, Delene (Lee) Malcom and LuAnn Hjelm, both of Basalt, Idaho; and brother Lynn (Lynae) Park of Ririe; three grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, three sisters and two grandchildren. A celebration of life memorial will be held at a future date, time and location to be determined.
