DIANA BETH CHILDRESS Diana Beth Childress, resident of Pahrump, Nevada since 1981, passed away December 31, 2020, with her family by her side at the age of 76. She was born March 2, 1944 in Cedar Grove, West Virginia to James and Stella Johnston. Moving with her family to Miami, Florida, she held jobs for Eastern Airlines and as an IBM keypunch operator before marrying her former Sunday school teacher, Loney Childress, on February 11, 1967 in Biscayne Gardens. Later in life, she worked as a book keeper for Childress Electric Company for her husband and for her sons after his death in 2001. Her many talents and interests over the years included Goju ryu Karate in which she was ranked a second degree black belt (Nidan), cake making, sewing, bowling, genealogy, coin collecting, traveling and was a strong believer in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Mrs. Childress is survived by her sisters, Ruth Linger and Iris Brisendine; brothers, James Johnston, Michael Johnston, Ray Johnston and Gay Johnston; children, Elizabeth Fink, Amy Childress, Loney Childress (Natalie) and Bradd Childress (Susan); 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Graveside Services will be held on January 9 at 11:00 a.m. at Pahrump Family Mortuary in Pahrump. Mask and distancing rules apply. Donations in lieu of flowers can be sent to
