GRACE MARY MALONEY September 24, 2020 Gracie was called home to a well-earned reward after suffering with complications of COPD and a variety of other debilitating illnesses. Born August 30, 1946 to Gilbert and Violet Lee Evans in Hinkley, Illinois, Grace was the seventh of nine children. She is survived by her sister, Ruth Damas; brother, John Evans; son, David Thurnau (Val); daughter, Tracy. She loved all of her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a growing number of nieces and nephews, whether by love or blood; each one held a piece of her heart. After retiring from the postal service, where she had a stellar career, Grace began a new passion and that was gathering people to her, be they relatives she found that she hadn't heard from in decades or new friends. She wrote daily positive affirmations on Facebook. No matter how much she hurt or how despondent, due to unrelenting pain, she felt saying something positive to brighten someone else's day was her life's mission and what she had been sent here to do. Her Facebook page remains open so those who need a little boost can read what she wrote. No services are planned due to the COVID-19 virus. If you wish, donations can be made to the Nathan Adelson Hospice Foundation or to the American Lung Association
. As she said in the closing of every one of her posts: Stay positive, keep smiling, be kind to all you encounter, trust in God, count your blessings and have a Pollyanna Day. Rest in Peace sweet Gracie. You made a difference here on earth and are missed.
