MICHAEL BERNARD BETTS Michael Bernard "Mick" Betts, 76, went to be with the Lord at his home in Pahrump, Wednesday, June 3, 2020 from pancreatic cancer, with his beloved wife April at his side. Michael was born October 2, 1943 in Scarborough, England to Bernard Thomas and Patricia Martha (Leader) Betts who both preceded him in death. He was a "bottom-ender" who grew up in the shadow of a castle ruins with the North Sea just outside the door. He was raised by his maternal grandparents, uncles and aunts. There he enjoyed working in the food service industry. Mick's second marriage was to American, Joyce Dotson. He immigrated here in 1971, and they had two daughters. He was a service technician; first at Eagle-Picher and then in the propane industry. On March 30, 2001, Mick married the love of his life, April, who he affectionately called his "squeaker". Mick loved life, visiting friends at the pub, concerts, RV trips, National Parks, historic sites, caverns, 2017 total solar eclipse, old movies, Las Vegas, British and American history, the Dodgers, pie, 60s music and his cats. He was a character. He always had a good story to tell. And he was always there to lend a hand. He will be dearly missed by his wife of over 19 years, April (Fry) Betts; daughters, Andrea (Dug Minutes) Betts and Georgia Betts; step-daughters, Crystal (Mike) Fernandez and Mandy (Dean) Libby; grandchildren; Donavan Minutes, Gaven Betts, Liam and Annelyse Gray; step-grandchildren, Brianna Smith, Isabella Fernandez, Christopher, Isaiah, Austin Reed, Nathan, Evan, Samuel Quilici, Payton, Kailey, Kaiden Libby; brother, John (Marlene) Betts; aunts, Evelyn Shaw and Veronica Leader of Scarborough, England; recently found half-brothers, Bernard Betts and James (June) Betts of Nottingham, England; and half-sister, Marion (John) Cooper of Australia who preceded him in death. Many cousins, nieces, nephews, in-laws, out-laws, family and friends. Thank you Comfort Hospice and Dr Edward Harding and Staff. Services will be held Friday, October 2, 2020, 2:00 p.m., at Heritage Bible Church, 3061 Heritage Drive, Pahrump, NV, 89061.
